Meet the Founder
Jen has spent over 15 years building a career in the agricultural sector. Although not originally from a farming background, her journey began with a degree in biology from Leeds University, followed by a Research Master’s focused on pig disease eradication initiatives.
It was here that Jen was first introduced to the pig industry, quickly discovering a real passion for it, and ultimately shaping both her career and life in agriculture. Since then, she has worked across the pork supply chain in both the private and public sectors, gaining a broad and practical understanding of the industry from multiple perspectives.​​

Over recent years Jen has branched out into other agricultural sectors, including arable and horticulture. Her clients include all types of business and organisations, including not for profits, marketing groups and traditional corporate businesses. This gives her a well rounded understanding of the pressures faced by agri businesses and organisations, whatever their individual goals.
Throughout this, Jen realised a common theme across all businesses and organisations, regardless of the sector: time is precious, and finding enough of it to keep everything moving can often be a challenge.

Many simply require an extra pair of hands to help get the day to day work done, but don’t necessarily require a permanent role to achieve this. The flexibility of Hartley Business Services means that whether the requirements are seasonal, short term or long term, there will be a solution to help provide the support needed, when it’s needed.

Outside of work, Jen lives with her husband, Rob, an Estate Director in Norfolk, along with their three cocker spaniels, Fern, Hazel and Rowan, and a plethora of chickens clucking around their garden. When she’s not working, there’s never a shortage of animals to keep her busy, with plenty going on both inside and outside of the garden!
